Meals on Wheels supports the idea that pets provide love and companionship and improve quality of life for their owners. Therefore, we deliver monthly supplies of cat and dog food to our meal recipients who need assistance with meals for their pets. Your donation of cat or dog food or dollars to support this program is greatly appreciated. The gratifying aspect of our program is that we know how much comfort a pet can bring and we are glad to know that we can continue to keep both our clients AND their beloved pets fed. Please call MOW at 673-5035 if you would like to make a donation.
“I am so thankful to have all of you in my life and thankful for the meals I receive everyday.” “Thanks for the delicious meals and friendly and kind staff.” “Thanks to the children for the art work they sent me. I love children. It brought me a happy time to me. Just to see someone care. Love, MHC – God bless you all.” “Thank you all so much for MOW. You are such a big help during this trying time and the cold weather. Your volunteer services and personnel are wonderful and so very friendly and helpful. The meals are good also. Again, thanks and God bless you all.” “I want to thank everyone for the birthday card and Valentine picture. How sweet and nice all of you have been bringing me food. I know God will bless all of you nice friends.” “I just wanted to thank you for the meals my brother received while he was sick. He stayed in bed most of the time, or sit up in the wheelchair. Wasn’t able to cook. He enjoyed the meals. Always said, if his health improved he was going to be a volunteer for you all.” “To the wonderful people at Meals on Wheels – I want to thank each and every one at MOW for being so good for people that are unable to get out, and also can’t cook for themselves. I am on route 28 and everyone that delivers are so sweet – they really make your day. Mr. Woody brought my meal yesterday and he was so kind. All your volunteers that come hear are so sweet they always ask how are you. That means a lot to know there are still some kind people that do care. God bless each and every one of you.” “I’m writing to express my deep gratitude for the phone calls you made and the actions you took last month on behalf of my mother. I’m sure you recall that she fell, and hit her head and was unconscious for some time and had to be rushed to MCV hospital. She’s doing fine right now and has almost fully recovered except for pains in her legs and shortness of breath. The Meals on Wheels program has been a real blessing to us over the past few months and I just wanted to write to let you know how thankful I am for the outstanding work you and your drivers are doing in getting the meals to my mom during her recovery. Thanks very much!” “I can’t possibly express the thoughts that are in my heart each day that every one of you bring to my door each day. All of you bring such happy thoughts and kindness with each meal. The Lord will bless you all, but all I can say is thank you over and over again and again.” “I wish to take this time out to express and say thank you to Meals on Wheels staff and the wonderful volunteers. Meals on Wheels has been and is a true blessing to me – especially days when the food gets low in my pantry. But most of all seeing the dedicated volunteers everyday with amazing and wonderful charming, cheerful smiles. It makes my day and especially those days when I have no visitors and a volunteer would say ‘how are you doing today?’ and it means so much – words cannot describe the feeling. The food is very satisfactory and delicious and has really improved my health. I am so appreciative of the staff and volunteers and services of Meals on Wheels of Richmond. Thank you again and God Bless you all!” “Dear Meals on Wheels Employees – Thank you so much for the continuing service given to me. I look forward everyday to the time when someone brings my food. Also for the weekend. I am eating a lot better than I ever did when my mother was alive. I eat a more balanced meal and have notices my health has gotten better because of it. Love always.” “Dear Friends – I thank you so very much for the wonderful services that you have. I have used your service twice, and it is great to be able to come home from the hospital and try to cook. I am enclosing a small check to help with your expenses. Your volunteers were just as sweet as possible. May God be with you all. With love.” “Dear Meals on Wheels – I am most grateful to you one and all. Not only do I receive great wholesome meals – but I deal on a daily basis with great volunteers whose big, warm smiles help make my day. What a blessing! Amongst all the turmoil around the world, God gifted me with a host of angels. You delighted me when you remembered my birthday with a sweet card and an even sweeter floral bouquet. Simply beautiful! Nobody ever recalls my birthday. Wish I could afford to send you a thank you card to match your benevolence. Just know I pray that God will bless you and keep you in the palms of his divine hands each and every day. Thanks again for the smile you have put on this old mug of mine.” “Thank you so very much. Before you took me under your wings I sometimes forgot to eat.” “I think Meals on Wheels is great just as is. I think the boys and girls do a wonderful job and I welcome each in my home and have made many friends. As a matter of fact, a volunteer gave me this beautiful stationery and still visits me in my home. I’ve never met a person I didn’t like. It really makes my day to see them. Love to all.” “Dear Friends at Meals on Wheels – Thank you so much for my ‘surprise’ Christmas gifts.” “Dear Meals on Wheels – I wanted to take the time to thank you and all the volunteers for helping my mother. She was in tears when you left her a package for Christmas. It also brought tears to myself. We have truly been blessed having your organization become a part of our lives. May you all have a blessed and happy holiday season. It was wonderful having children be a part of it all as well. Merry Christmas.”
