Meals on Wheels supports the idea that pets provide love and companionship and improve quality of life for their owners. Therefore, we deliver monthly supplies of cat and dog food to our meal recipients who need assistance with meals for their pets. Your donation of cat or dog food or dollars to support this program is greatly appreciated. The gratifying aspect of our program is that we know how much comfort a pet can bring and we are glad to know that we can continue to keep both our clients AND their beloved pets fed. As our drivers hit the road, we give each one detailed directions telling them which streets to follow and what meals to deliver where and when. Because we take great care in planning our routes, volunteers are always able to deliver the right meal at the right time. However, we work with other maps too; bigger maps that chart the future course of the entire organization. We want to include you in mapping our plans and preparing the future. Please join us as we draw the map charting the future of Meals on Wheels. It’s easier than you might think and everyone can participate in the plan, including drivers, donors and clients by including Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia in your will. A gift in your will to Meals on Wheels will go a long way in feeding the homebound hungry in our community, and will help us guarantee service to neighbors needing meals in the future. If you don’t have a will or need to update yours, please call your attorney and let him or her know you want to keep feeding our community. It’s important for you to work with an attorney because an improperly drafted will means that your gift might not make it to Meals on Wheels (among other things).
