Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia

Meals on Wheels 12th Annual Hunger Strike

Thank you to all of the sponsors, bowling teams and supporters who participated in this wonderful fundraiser to “STRIKE” out Hunger in Central Virginia!!  With the help of over 200 bowlers from 45 teams, we raised close to $40,000 to provide 8,000 meals to our homebound neighbors in need!  Thank you for your dedication and support as we strive to fulfill our mission especially in these tighter economic times!

New this year, AMF Sunset Lanes was offered as a second venue for bowlers in Richmond and it was such a hit that it sold out!  Our friend Shelly Perkins from Lite 98 brought a team for her son’s birthday and spoke on air about Hunger Strike and encouraged listeners to donate.  Bowlers were able to customize their own web pages and track donations on-line which was a great addition.

We are thrilled to announce the winners of the 12th Annual Meals on Wheels Hunger Strike held Saturday, November 8 at AMF Hanover Lanes and Saturday, November 15 at AMF Sunset Lanes and AMF Walnut Hill Lanes:
