Meals on Wheels supports the idea that pets provide love and companionship and improve quality of life for their owners. Therefore, we deliver monthly supplies of cat and dog food to our meal recipients who need assistance with meals for their pets. Your donation of cat or dog food or dollars to support this program is greatly appreciated. The gratifying aspect of our program is that we know how much comfort a pet can bring and we are glad to know that we can continue to keep both our clients AND their beloved pets fed. Meals on Wheels’ primary site serves roughly half of Meals on Wheels’ daily meals. About one hundred volunteers are needed each day to pack and load the food, then to delivery its 37 city-area routes.
Meals on Wheels has additional distribution sites in all service areas—including each county served by Meals on Wheels as well as each of the Tri-Cities. Satellite sites are coordinated by part-time staff members. Meals on Wheels does not have actual office space within these facilities, therefore all phone calls of interest should be directed to the main Meals on Wheels number. Current volunteers who need to get in touch with satellite site coordinators should call the voice mail assistance line at 673-1935 or 934-1942. Callers will be directed to the correct voice line.
